ABSTRACT

Flappers and bootleggers all seemed to be having fun at the speakeasies and gin joints of the 1920s. Outdoor games were the same as most kids play now. They liked baseball and kickball, and if there was no ball available, they played Kick the Can. Indoors, kids played board games and paper-and-pencil games. Radio broadcasts were a new invention in 1920, but by 1928, kids could listen to detective and Western shows on the radio. One entertainment for kids in the 1920s was reading the comic strip in the newspaper. They loved reading about the adventures of Little Orphan Annie or Buster Brown. Kids would draw their own comics or play a game called Foldovers to mahe crazy cartoon pictures. To play Foldovers, a child will need two or three friends. Give each person a piece of paper and a pencil. Fold each piece of paper into three equal sections.
