ABSTRACT

Dicey Langston was a teenage girl with a mission. Living in South Carolina, many of the Langston neighbors were loyal to King George, so the brothers wisely decided to take their small band of patriot soldiers and camp several miles from the family plantation. But the brothers hadn't counted on Dicey and her talent for spying. The Bloody Scouts were a band of English outlaws who were known for torturing and killing their victims. Dicey had to warn her brothers, even if it was against her father's orders. She arrived just a little after her brothers and their men returned from an expedition. The old man never realized his daughter had been gone all night or that she had broken his rule about visiting her brothers. The Bloody Scouts were furious and suspected Dicey and her father, but they had no way to prove it. The Bloody Scouts decided they needed to teach the Langstons a lesson.
