ABSTRACT

Peter Lunn loved the rush of adrenaline he felt as he barreled down the ski slopes. The faster he could go, the more he loved it. Peter grew up on the slopes of Switzerland. His famous British grandfather, Sir Henry Lunn, was a great promoter of alpine downhill skiing as a sport and Peter’s father was instrumental in getting downhill skiing included in the Olympics. Peter himself represented Britain in the 1936 Winter Olympics. When war broke out, Peter joined the Royal Artillery, but his supervisors soon realized that his real skills were not being used and he was moved to the Secret Intelligence Service. He was posted to both Malta and Italy, where he worked to uncover information that could help the Allies in the war against the Nazis. Peter began to investigate and learned that there were Soviet telephone cables running through the British and French sectors of Vienna.
