ABSTRACT

Doctors have always known the eyes are important for understanding the body. In ancient times, physicians looked at the eyes to see if there were ailments in other parts of the body. Today, doctors check the pupils (black dot in the center) of a person’s eyes if he or she gets hit on the head. The pupils should be the same size. If they are not, then the patient may have a concussion. The pupils should both react the same way to light. They should grow larger in a dark room and smaller in light.
