ABSTRACT

Competitions are often an easy way to begin with enrichment clusters because specific guidelines and rules are already established, which give the people a way to structure the cluster. Cluster grouping is similar to flexible grouping except the students have generally been identified as gifted and talented for their grade level prior to starting the school year and are placed together in one classroom. However, it is often amazing to see how some students who might not have math strengths to begin with are inspired by the motivational activities and enthusiasm of their group partners as they engage in Type I, II, and III experiences. In summary, there are a variety of programming options that afford the opportunity to implement the Enrichment Triad Model and ensure that students are involved in the Three Es in their mathematics school experiences.
