ABSTRACT

The advent of capitalism associated with colonization dates back to the discovery of America by Europeans in 1492 in the early phase of merchant capitalism. The earliest contradiction, in the form of first anticolonial struggle, began in the continent of North America against the British imperial power. The declaration was so full of bitter condemnation of the unjust and exploitative policies of British imperialism and the snapping of ties with Great Britain was so complete that it was after a lapse of seven years. Capitalism also learnt one of its first lessons from the American experience. Capitalism thereafter began to rely more and more on capitalist colonization through control related to the guarantee of defence against foreign aggression and finance capital support rather than through assuming political responsibility. Capitalist colonization through assuming direct political control and responsibility was almost given up by the imperialist nations after the middle of twentieth century.
