ABSTRACT

This chapter provides case studies of the use of Photobooks as a means of emotional development for individuals and groups. Two forms of creating books using stories are considered. The first, Talking Picture Books, which is explored in depth, is where the client writes a personal book for an actual or imagined person, following the structure provided here. This involves designating a page for each suggested chapter heading and providing each with a chosen photograph and brief description of a thought to accompany. The second type of book, story books, is one where a story is told by selecting a sequence of photographs. The case studies chosen are taken from prison inmates writing these books for their children.
