ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the concept of occupational justice and its impact on the individual and global community. The chapter begins with a review of the definition and key concepts of occupational justice and builds on the work of Ann Wilcock, Elizabeth Townsend, and other international contributors. It then considers the political, economic, and social implications of occupational justice, along with the consequences of occupational injustice and deprivation. The chapter proceeds with a discussion on the global impacts of issues that affect occupational justice and closes with a discussion on the implications for occupational therapists and the role that occupational therapy can have in global justice concerns.
