ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 introduces occupation-based theories and practice models used to guide the occupational therapy process. Included are descriptions of the Person-Environment-Occupation Performance (PEOP) Model, the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-E), and the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO). Common concepts within the models are discussed along with a brief history of model development in occupational therapy. The chapter concludes with a short summary of other commonly used occupation-based models, their key concepts, and considerations for evaluation and intervention.
