ABSTRACT

Electromagnetism and its impact on worldview and philosophy is the main object of our study in this book. Problems of philosophy which seemed settled have emerged anew, demanding solutions with growing force. The people need fresh generalizations, and therefore fresh philosophy or fresh approaches to philosophical questions. The industrial revolution caused a leap in thought by providing qualitatively new tools of knowledge like the steam engine-driven machines, mills and factories, means of transport, various equipments and gadgets like telescope and microscope, modern physical and chemical laboratories, diesel and electricity-driven machines and so on. Natural sciences, as also the social sciences, helped the reader penetrate deep into matter and its mechanics. The human being has evolved in natural planetary conditions of the earth. New and unprecedented aspects of matter are being revealed, creating problems for cognition.
