ABSTRACT
This chapter explains the premise for the book, introduces the authors’ beliefs about screenwriters as storytellers who happen to write for film. It also introduces readers to the conventions of traditional screenwriting (structure, premise, dialogue, character, etc.) and offers alternatives to those conventions.
