ABSTRACT
This chapter compares the two regional filmmakers Kelly Reichardt and Eugene Martin with the more commercially oriented works of Kathryn Bigelow. Films given particular attention include Reichardt’s Wendy and Lucy and Certain Women, Martin’s Micha and Mirasol, and Bigelow’s Detroit.
