ABSTRACT

New technologies bring advances in application and use of color, and the Internet and progress in such divergent areas as virtual realities and cybernetics are changing our ideas regarding the very nature of what color is and can be. Today the word ‘green' has more significance and deeper meaning than just the name of a single hue. Green represents nature and the growth of the earth's flora. The green movement has spread from the fields of art and design to the mainstream. Architecture has been one of the leading disciplines moving toward a more ecological and environmental consciousness. Colors are used to identify products, and certain hues can become synonymous with a particular brand of merchandise. Artists in their ever-inquisitive search for new forms to make art have grabbed onto the computer and other new media such as lasers and holography. Virtual realities have been around for a number of years.
