ABSTRACT
We suggest that research along the lines of the Open Building model is relevant for the architectural profession at large. With appropriate skills and knowledge, our profession will be better equipped for the realities of large projects. Equally important, it can contribute to the creation of urban fabric of a fine-grained quality compatible with large projects of all kinds. Such fine-grained large undertakings will make them more resilient to change, more sustainable in the face if the existential threat of climate change and more responsive to human life in all its rich diversity.
