ABSTRACT

Awaiting Pham’s entrance, sitting on comfortable leather chairs in the huge, marble-walled reception room, relaxed nature of the Vietnamese. Pham made the introductions, remembering not only our names but also our nationalities and our professions—and there were fourteen of us in all, four investigators, Pic, the Australian journalist Wilfred Burchett, and eight Japanese war crimes investigators. Full of wit, with an easy style, Ho stayed only a few minutes and spoke exclusively in French. In an attempt to reconquer Viet Nam as well as the whole of Indo-China, the French colonialist aggressors started their ‘dirty war’ at the end of 1945. The South Viet Nam army and people, starting with almost bare hands, have scored great achievements, recorded glorious victories and driven us imperialists and their agents into a corner. The Government of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam holds that the mentioned stand is the basis for the soundest political settlement of the Viet Nam problem.
