ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the different types of online content that can be created and used to market a musician and/or their music releases. Different marketing techniques are explored and there is a focus on creating content for a specific audience. The author describes the difference between a budget setup and a pro setup and notes how these different setups affect the overall content production quality. ‘My Take’ and ‘Quick Tip’ sections of this chapter deliver actionable advice to enable musicians to create content in an efficient way so that the process doesn’t consume their lives and hinder music creativity. Pros and cons of various types of content and their various formats are explored.
