ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the current organizational vision and how applicable it is to the students in the schools. It focuses on organizational beliefs about student learning and the role as an educator in bringing the vision to life. The chapter develops a revised vision that put real-time formative data front and center to ensure that the vision meets the needs of all students. Including real-time, formative data in vision will lead to greater differentiation, which in turn will lead to greater success for all students in the organization. Shifting the culture of an organization will take more than a new vision; it will require shifts in how educators view their roles, their beliefs, and their commitment to all—not most—students. This change will take time and a strong understanding of formative data and where it fits into the vision.
