ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces readers to the field of inclusive early childhood education and early childhood special education. History, legislation, and programs in which children with exceptional needs are educated are examined along with important legal forces that have shaped the field. Provisions, amendments parts, and requirements of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are also examined in this chapter.
