ABSTRACT

The introduction lays out the case for why ‘making risk management work’ is an important topic. Risk management is a mature discipline in many ways and very much in the public discourse given the risk-based decisions everyone has had to make around the Covid-19 pandemic. Yet, there are many pitfalls for the people and organisations who are trying to make risk-informed decisions. Chapter 1 touches on these, outlines who the book is for, and explains how to navigate the text.
