ABSTRACT

This final chapter discusses positive opportunities available in a decolonised future. Australia's actions at the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic validated the changes to mainstream non-Indigenous culture this study detected. When faced with a decision, Australia rejected an approach based on individualistic monetary values, and chose a time-rich community approach that prioritised lives ahead of the economy. It was a decisive moment of cultural change. It is a story of healing, hope and renewal, based on intercultural respect.
