ABSTRACT

This chapter will discuss how Nonlinear Pedagogy can create motivating learning environments. Specifically, we will highlight the importance of adopting an integrative approach to session design to ensure that such motivating learning environments can be supported. This is demonstrated through application of Deci and Ryan’s (2002) continuum on how teachers and coaches can design programmes to meet the basic psychological needs of learners of all ability levels. Practical examples are also provided to exemplify the relevance of Nonlinear Pedagogy on helping to create motivating learning environments.
