ABSTRACT

Chapter 9 summarizes my findings on Russian realism, reflects on divisions and convergence within Russian realists, identifies new challenges for national development of realism, and formulates implications such development may have for the country's foreign policy and IR theory. The chapter concludes by assessing progress in Russian national IR development as partly dependent on realism and other branches of Russian political theory. Finally, the chapter calls for global dialogues across realisms. Such dialogues are vitally important given realist focus on issues of international security. It is only in process of such dialogue that genuinely global insights, ideas, and approaches can be developed thereby empowering humanity with practical solutions for preventing crises and wars.
