Listening to the voices of global university presidents is important to understand higher education. In this interview, Professor Ulrich Rüdiger, rector of Aachen University of Technology, discusses personal experiences, leadership insights and arrangements, the institution, and future challenges and opportunities shaping higher education. Rector Rüdiger discusses focusing on the future and creating the future, balancing engineering and humanities, recruiting and retaining top experts and professors, and teaching students basic and applied competencies.
