ABSTRACT

There are very few of the younger generation who start chadō practice, and the number of practitioners is decreasing year by year. On the other hand, there is an increasing number of international students who are interested in chādo and other related art forms. This chapter first explores the future of chādo and how to attract younger generations. Readers will also look at how chādo is introduced and practised outside of Japan. Based on the discussion of its future, this chapter then draws together the themes of the previous chapters and concludes this book by answering some questions shared in the Introduction chapter.
