ABSTRACT

This chapter concludes the book with the admission that some teaching situations cannot be resolved by the actions of individual teachers. A variety of perspectives are presented, including finding purpose in other professions and not finding purpose in a profession. Teachers are encouraged to do everything possible to continue teaching, but feel released if a situation is not maintainable. The chapter concludes with an exhortation to find hope and strength in slow, small changes for teachers who are continuing to teach despite feeling like quitting.
