ABSTRACT
This chapter speculates on whether the issues faced by support workers will be addressed in the future and how the support workforce might change in the next decade. To gather insights on these questions a survey of key stakeholders was deployed. It is expected that the numbers of support workers employed in the NHS will grow and that there will be more patient pathway rather than profession specific roles developed. Whilst many issues are expected to be resolved, some are expected to endure.
