ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 summarizes the living conditions of migrant workers and makes an estimation on the status of the rural labor force surplus in the years after 2003 by using several micro survey databases. As this study involves the causes of the movement of the migrant workers across regions, we also have studied the differences in different regions.
