ABSTRACT

Chapter 6 analyzes the interaction between the left-behind children and the migrant workers with the information collected by the student vacation survey. In comparison to the previous studies, this research makes some improvements on the research methods. The chapter not only investigates the changes in study tutoring and supervision, educational expenses and learning motives of left-behind children after their parents go out to work, but also specially analyzes the effect of the living situation of the left-behind children on their academic performance with econometric methods and has drawn a conclusion different from the previous studies.
