ABSTRACT

Various chapters have discussed all relevant dimensions of the questions asked in the introduction. In this chapter, the author establishes that answers have been provided to such questions. The question of whether China had a grand strategy in the pursuit of its foreign policy objectives has been demonstrated in various chapters. The chapters identify the constitutive elements of a grand strategic pursuit, namely, objectives, actors, time and space factors, operations, scale and scope, coordination, political narratives, and reveal how China fits the mold, with currently one missing element, namely, teleology. The conclusion also establishes the implications of the success of China’s grand strategic pursuit to the structure of international relations.
