ABSTRACT

This chapter is a recapitulation of the main points of the book and an attempt at a conclusion with some new thoughts. It addresses the epochal issue of a new type of migrations in a now globalised world and the on-going european (and others’) war on migrants, refugees, and exiles. It also questions the epistemological conditions of this state of affairs, in a situation where alternative knowledges are becoming more visible to everyone. It examines the prospects of resistance in the planetary circumstance of covid-19, as well as India, Yugoslavia, and France in this respect, among other places. It investigates whether the possible opening that seemed to be procured by the 2020 covid-19 virus would really signify a departure from the neoliberal pattern of economy and society we have been living in. Or is this coinciding with the climate-change awareness and ecological concerns (among other crises) too a lost opportunity?
