ABSTRACT

As it is difficult to generalise about how people understand and live religion and spirituality in their everyday life, the same can be said about non-religion. This category can include various forms of non-belief, such as atheism and agnosticism, and even belief in spirituality. Being non-religious does not always mean being a non-believer. This unclear and wide category has never been so numerous in Australia and is not likely to decrease in the near future. This chapter explores the various research done in this category of people, not only in Australia, but also in relation to other key countries.
