ABSTRACT

Time was that I, too, was worried lest the American people might not comprehend the new responsibility which has been thrust upon them as a result of their wealth and their power. Today, I am very glad to observe that the people of the United States have recognized this responsibility better than almost any other nation in history. They are perfectly clear as to the tremendous scope of that responsibility; they see themselves as the leaders of mankind and the protectors of all humane ideals.
