ABSTRACT

The lived experiences of persons with disabilities are unique depending on the context in which they are situated. A plethora of factors influence the lived experiences of persons with disabilities. This chapter explores the issues that affect persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe. The chapter focuses on political, social and economic issues in the context of Zimbabwe. Before discussing the proper theologies for African churches to meet the needs of persons with disabilities, it is critical to understand issues that affect persons with disabilities. Therefore, this chapter explores the lived experiences of persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe.
