ABSTRACT

The chapter discusses the third group of Christian traditions in Zimbabwe, which has two related strands, namely the Classical African Pentecostal and Neo-Pentecostal churches in Zimbabwe and how they minister to persons with disabilities. Pentecostal and Neo-Pentecostal churches in Zimbabwe use miracles, healings, and signs and wonders to attract believers, resulting in mega-churches. As a point of departure, this chapter explores the impact of miracles and divine healings on persons with disabilities. In this line of thought, this chapter recommends alternative holistic material and psychosocial support for persons with disabilities rather than the endless chasing of divine healings, miracles, and signs and wonders.
