ABSTRACT
The introductory chapter offers an explanation why we should learn the history of the Turkic Peoples. It highlights the role of the Turkic peoples and their achievements in history. It then provides a critical discussion of Turkic ethnogenesis and identity. Additionally, it offers information on the genetic makeup of the Turkic Peoples.
