ABSTRACT

Having connected on Facebook (somehow in some group or other) in 2012, we soon decided to meet in person. In 2013 I joined Rosie in Every Child Leaving Care Matters (ECLCM), which was an activist group set up in response to the Staying Put agenda. Staying Put gave those in foster care the right to stay in their placements beyond 18 years old and up to 21 years old, but not those in residential care. ECLCM argued, and continues to argue, that this is discrimination towards young people in residential care placements.
