ABSTRACT
This chapter begins the final section of the book, moving from the analysis of EHR data to the clinical and public health applications of the study results. Necessarily, this involves disseminating research findings, which may include publication or presentation to scientific audiences as well as other channels to reach a broader audience. The publication process is covered in detail, from manuscript preparation and submission to post-acceptance proofing. Similarly, the process of preparing a scientific abstract for presentation – platform or poster – is also covered. Following the discussion of scientific dissemination, the chapter continues with alternate forms of research communication including infographics and interactive visualizations. Lastly, open and transparent research is argued for, including how to submit computational codes to public data repositories.
