ABSTRACT

This chapter begins by establishing the need for advocacy for learners with gifts and talents. Advocacy includes more than asking for funding; it also includes examining laws, policies, and procedures to ensure they do not negatively impact advanced learning but rather help more students perform at advanced levels. Stakeholders in gifted education share suggestions, strategies, and tips for advocating for others as well as ways to teach others how to advocate. The chapter ends with tales of joy connected to advocacy.
