ABSTRACT
This chapter takes the reader into the experiential process of therapeutic accompaniment. Javier and Yao Lu meet for the first time, yet both have a world of experiences they carry with them. A brief description of Javier's prior work, and Yao Lu's present situation as an international adoptee, who is suddenly pregnant and needs to be referred to a maternity home with an open door policy, sets the scene.
