ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the importance of continually tracking and evaluating the progress of the RCC’s activities to learn what is working, what is not, and improve its goals, strategies, and action plans. This involves developing an evaluation strategy and troubleshoot problems. The chapter also discusses the importance of an RCC becoming a learning community. It then highlights steps the coalition can take after functioning for a few years to ensure that it can continue its offerings over the long- term as the climate emergency accelerates. This includes how to embed mental wellness and transformational resilience into the operations of local organizations, and developing long-term strategic plans. Three areas involved with the long-term strategic plans are then discussed in more detail: developing RCC member and staff transition strategies, long-term funding plans, and plans to continue operating during and after major disasters and emergencies.
