ABSTRACT

This chapter explores feminist scholarship on military technologies and their relations with gender roles and values. This chapter also surveys feminist, post-colonial and decolonial critiques of Artificial Intelligence (AI), highlighting the negative consequences of AI-enhanced technologies on marginalised, racialised and gendered individuals, in particular, those living or originating in the Global South. This chapter uses the example of drone warfare, showcasing its biases and discussing its impact on the future of warfare, and of the military more generally.
