ABSTRACT
This chapter gives an overview of jobs that fall into these six types of technology: communication (television, Internet, cell phones), electrical (computers, AI, circuits, software), energy (solar panels, wind turbines, batteries), mechanical (manufacturing, heavy engineering), medical (diagnostics, pharmaceutical, surgical) and transportation (GPS, flight, vehicles). The goal is to get the reader thinking about careers in technology. The chapter explains a list of the current top jobs in the technology field which includes data scientists, software developers, information security analysts, computer systems analysts, web developers, sales engineers, IT managers and computer research scientists. Kids will also be encouraged to start a notebook to record any ideas or drawings they might have.
