ABSTRACT

This chapter examines, in depth, three diverse enforcement issues that have had a profound impact on modern weights and measures regulation in the United States: (1) Joint Federal-State Study of School Milk (April-May 1997), (2) Retail Motor-Fuel Dispenser Fraud in Los Angeles (1998) and (3) Privatization of Weights and Measures Enforcement. The impacts of each of these enforcement issues on the future direction of weights and measures regulation are assessed.
