ABSTRACT

Engineering to order is not recorded in the form of a simple representation of facts, information or values, but rather it is a sequence of logical connections where it is often necessary to make decisions based on a multi-criteria analysis of technical, functional and market conditions. Hence, a simple representation of manufacturing knowledge, in the form of a standard database, is not sufficient from the point of view of the availability of knowledge in an enterprise aspiring to operate in accordance with the I4.0 concept. Therefore, this chapter presents methods for collecting and representing knowledge and also explores the possibilities of visualising knowledge by using I4.0 technologies in the three dimensions of a customer-oriented company.
