ABSTRACT
The sixth chapter presents the practical importance of the research work undertaken. The results of the implementation of I4.0 technologies in manufacturing enterprises in Europe are described. The need to occupy the ground between design and the implementation of the manufacturing knowledge management process and to apply the changes caused by I4.0 to the production of mass customisation has been indicated. This part of the book presents two, real-life case studies – one in Germany and the other in Poland – of the production of mass customisation in which the reference model of managing manufacturing knowledge in the era of Industry 4.0, namely the new ARMMknowI4.0 architecture, was verified.
