ABSTRACT
Real world sounds are extremely complex. We have the ability to make a wide variety of discriminations ranging from the sound of the human voice to a babbling brook to rain on the roof or a piece of music with one particular type of guitar or even sounds that signal danger. This chapter focuses on those brain processes involved in hearing as well as language and music.
