ABSTRACT
In the twenty-first century, translation has become an important venue for raising questions pertaining to representation as well as to the linguistic construction of reality. Translation has now begun to look beyond the linguistic to better understand the intersemiotic. Translators are interested in languages, languages that include looks, sounds, colors, and sensations. In short, they must be utterly fascinated by all the representations of the world created in any semiotic system.
