ABSTRACT
303Africa’s young, large population has the potential to fuel a ‘demographic dividend’ of growth or a ‘youth bulge’ of conflict. Larger economies like South Africa and Nigeria have struggled to raise living standards. Ethiopia, a standout economic success, is now racked by civil conflict.
