ABSTRACT
As this book was still being written in March 2020, the Covid pandemic erupted. The pandemic was nothing less than a global crisis, which would change the course of history. It has altered our lives. It has laid bare the limitations and problems of our global economic system, as well as highlighted the difficulties faced by governments in tackling the pandemic. Most importantly of all, in the summer of 2022, the number of deaths attributed to the pandemic reached almost 6.5 million people. There will sadly be many more.
