ABSTRACT
Few of the stars of Hollywood have earned such notoriety as a son of a cockney hawker, who ran away from home when he was eleven in order to become an actor. The picture was a mixture of comedy and drama, showing in a number of separate episodes what happens to ten different people when they hear that each has inherited a million dollars. Comedy took a hand in Groucho’s private life directly he started to be a comedian. Some of the most famous lines which the brothers included in their earlier films are today constantly quoted by the many devotees of Marx humour. Stories about the Marx Brothers are often misquoted, and sometimes become unrecognizable. In the twenty-one years that the Crazy Gang were together, they performed thousands of practical jokes, mostly on each other.
